Veni, Vidi, Vici…. part 1 The wig

Advancing with the V for Vendetta project

Not just a normal black party wig, the wig needs to consist of good quality sententic, animal or even real human hair.

In this case a durable sententic hair-wig has been used, the hair itself isn’t black either but consists of a very darkbrown colour.

Here we get an impression of cutting the wig into shape

…Misfortune at Felucia….painting and preparing the belt, kama, holsterstraps and holsters.

The most extensive work besides the helmet is the middle parts of this armor, being the most important part because of the suspension of the whole underarmor (accept for the lower legs and boots).

Starting with the first test-fit with colors painted

Testfit_1

As this is being just a testfit , different parts aren’t fastened, this is just to check the hight of the holsters and the belt it self and to compare the colors.

The belt itself has been weathered,

100_0570 005

010

Still without the weathering, as the yellow boxes have been weathered, the rest of the belt shows an unfinished look…..

100_0570_2

As we’re trying to get as close to promo picture of Commander Bly…..

Cb_23

we added grey aswell as the picture shows grey dirt on several boxes, with still unfinished at this point, we still need to leave brown and black marks in the form of stains and scratches around the edges of the boxes ( which has to be done very subtle)

…Misfortune at Felucia…Bly in it’s colors

Untitled_bc_4png_a

First thing that we noticed on the official promo picture is that the legstripe across the upperleg isn’t centered, we wanted to this also with this armor.

Aaa

As for a paint-method, airbrush techniques have been chosen, model building paint is being used (by revell and humbrol).

These are just the upperleg armor parts and the knees , more to come very soon.

The finger-nails of doom…..are gonna scratch you freddy glove update!

Naamloos_a_1

Here’s a Project "Framed" wanted to share with all people interested in the "The Nightmare on Elmstreet" Theme.

Here you can see how he made one of the Gloves.

  1.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_001  2.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_002  3.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_003  4.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_005

1.First you need somekind of Template (made out of solid steel) to form each one of the the four Fingertips, beside the "Template" is a Copper tube from which the Fingertips are made.

2.The tools needed to form the Fingertips.

3.An impression of where the tube should be exactly ,before hammering the curve around the tube(forming the tube)

4.Meassuring the exact size of the Fingertip, with a steel carving pencil.

  5.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_006  6.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_007  7.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_008  8.Freddy_gloves_feb2007_009

5.Marking the Fingertips (with a letter) for each Finger is a smart thing to do so you know on which Finger it should go, because there are different sizes for most of the fingers.

6.The Fingertip has been cut from the Tube, you also get a nice impression of (the formed)curve.

7.One of the Finger-knives has been placed on the Fingertip ….

8.And welded into position.

9.Heating up the Fingertip and knive some more, to strengthen the glove-part for extra Durability (This is what we call a "Hard Weld")

13,14 and 15.The "Under-fingers" (as we call them for now)have been meassured an cut out, the cutting out has been done with a pair of Metal-scissors.

16.Now the connection can be made between the different parts.

23.The Glove used is from the same source used in the " A Nightmare on Elmstreet" Movies, it’s "Wells Lamont" Working Glove.

24 and 25.The handguard placed on the glove ro give an impression.

26.Drilling the holes in the handguard for permanent placement ontop of the glove.

27.before making permanent adjustmentsonto the glove itself, the Fingertips are permanently connected to the handguard.

28.Another impression of the glove wit the handguard(fitted to the four Finger-knives), as you can see there are still four "rings" missing which keep the Finger-knives in place.

29.The four "rings" are now being welded to the inside of the Finger-knives.

30.Now the Finger-knives shoved over each one of the glove-fingers after which the handguard can be fitted to the Glove itself.

31,32 and 33. And impression of weathered "Freddy" Glove, looking filthy and Stinky of rotten blood!

34, 35, 36 and 37. A Fresh unused "Freddy" Glove, as if Freddy was to come by and get his next Glove.

SO BEWARE!! HE’S HUNGRY FOR SCARED SOULS!!!!

Well that might not be totally untrue, because "Freddy" himself (Also known as the actor Robert Englund) will make an appearance at the next Facts Convention, he will sign at the Convention aswell.
